We want to hear from YOU on this year’s budget priorities!

Thank you to the hundreds of residents who participated in our recent Community Survey on City service needs and priorities! We are looking forward to incorporating your feedback in this year’s budget process and expanding the discussion to make sure everyone’s voice is heard.

You told us how important our community parks and beaches are to you, and we agree! Pacifica’s parks, beaches, coastline, trails, and recreation opportunities are what make our city unique. The City strives to protect these resources for current and future generations to enjoy.

You may have noticed the condition of our local streets and roads. Despite the City’s efforts and ongoing maintenance, Pacifica still has some of the worst-rated roads in the entire Bay Area, with most rated “very poor” and a $30 million backlog of repairs. The City must be able to make essential repairs to our local streets and fix potholes immediately to keep the community safe on the roads and improve traffic congestion. Without additional local funding, our City’s road maintenance will be cut, making traffic worse, our roads more dangerous, and future repairs more expensive.

Unfortunately, many intersections near our local schools are in need of repairs. Additional locally controlled funding could be used to build new sidewalks and bike lanes and improve crosswalks and lighting near schools to ensure students can safely walk or bike to their local schools.

Residents also identified the following City service priorities:

  • Maintaining storm drains to prevent flooding
  • Maintaining 911 fire and emergency medical response times
  • Repairing potholes, addressing the condition of City streets
  • Keeping beaches free from pollution
  • Protecting coastal areas and local beaches
  • Reducing the risk of flooding and mudslides

Now we want to hear from YOU! Please take a moment to give your feedback on this year’s City service needs and priorities by completing the Pacifica Discussion survey below.
