 The City of Pacifica has launched a new initiative aimed at giving local businesses a way to increase sales, while encouraging the community to keep local dollars local. 

Shop Pacifica citywide eGift Cards allow locals and visitors to purchase one gift card that lives on their phones, and can be redeemed at multiple participating businesses around town.

In addition, the city actively promotes the program, along with businesses that sign up - meaning if you sign up, the city will help create more exposure for your business!

How much does it cost for your business to participate? 

Nothing, it’s free to sign up and use the service. The only cost to you is the MasterCard processing fee when the gift card is redeemed.

Who Can Participate?

Participation is open to any business in the City of Pacifica, however, you must accept Mastercard in order to redeem Shop Pacifica eGift Cards.

Details For Businesses:

To sign up to become a participating Shop Pacifica business, simply click HERE and scroll down to the "Apply to Join" button at the bottom of the page.

Participation is free for businesses*, and can be set up in a matter of minutes. Simply enter the activation code you were sent in your POS, and you will be up and running! Once you enter your activation code, you will be automatically added to a participating business list and map on the Shop Pacifica website. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours to be added. 

Shop Pacifica cards are managed by the city through an online gift card platform, Yiftee, so once businesses are signed up there is no additional city overhead needed to manage the program.

Shop Pacifica eGift cards never expire. Cards can be stored digitally on shoppers’ mobile devices, or printed at home and used just like a physical gift card when making purchases in-store.

Additional Details:

  • Merchants are paid via Mastercard when eGifts are redeemed. 

  • To redeem, process as key-entry MasterCards, similar to a customer paying with their own credit card.

  • There is no fee for merchants to sign up. 

  • Merchants are responsible for paying MasterCard processing at redemption. The fee is slightly higher (fraction of %), because it is a “Card Not Present” (CNP) transaction.

  • Card buyer pays $1+5% eDelivery fee on purchase. 

  • Yiftee may take inactivity fees on card balance after 12 consecutive months of inactivity, state laws permitting.

  • Merchants must run an “Activation Card” to opt in to the program.
