The Public Works Park Division maintains five city baseball fields and two city soccer fields. Irrigation on all fields is consistently checked and repaired as needed. Holes that develop in the fields due to heavy usage are immediately filled to prevent tripping hazards. The lawns are mowed weekly and fertilized twice a year. The backstops, bleachers and fences are kept clean and in good shape. Due to the large number of teams that use Pacifica's sports fields, maintenance is a year-round job.
